Sonya is now teaching weekly online yoga classes Tuesdays at 5pm via Zoom. All classes will be recorded and are available anytime you would like to practice. Memberships are required to gain access to both live Zoom classes and recorded content.
There are many membership options in order to allow access to anyone and everyone.
All memberships, no matter what they cost, offer the same benefits: One live class per week on Tuesdays 5-6:15pm, plus access to all previously recorded class videos with at least one new class added every week.
New in January: In an effort to continue supporting our amazing community, I will begin offering monthly virtual gatherings where we will chat instead of doing our physical practice. This is a time to connect, to share our experiences in practicing yoga, breathwork, and meditation, to discuss our spirituality, intentions and goals, and how to practice social justice as a spiritual person. Each gathering will start with a short mindfulness practice and then we will open up the space to all who have gathered. Our first gathering will take place on January 24th at 4pm via the same zoom link we use for yoga.

Sonya's teaching style has changed quite a lot over the past year. Though she has received extensive training in Kundalini Yoga, she decided to focus on other styles of yoga in early 2020 after learning that the founder of Kundalini Yoga was abusive to his individual students and to the community in general, and that he may have completely made up some/many of the practices he taught.
She has recently become certified in Energy Medicine Yoga which is based on the teachings of Donna Eden and is currently studying Yin and Chinese Medicine for yoga. She has training in trauma sensitivity and body positive yoga. Sonya is always studying, and she has embarked on some serious self-study on cultural appropriation. She is working to incorporate these learnings into her yoga teaching. She teaches weekly online classes via Zoom and provides recordings to her students who would like to practice on their own when it is convenient for them.
Sonya is committed to making yoga accessible to all and uses a pay-what-you-can business model for her yoga classes. What can you expect? Gentle to moderate classes, and lots of pranayama. Every class is different. Some are very slow and meditative, others are a bit more active. If you would like to try one of her prerecorded classes before joining, please reach out and she would be happy to send one to you.
