Sessions will be offered privately by appointment. The first session will include an assessment and the introduction of initial practices that you can begin to integrate into your daily life. In the second session, we will check in and add physical practices and/or meditations specific to your needs. Materials to take home and a link to a personal playlist to support your practice will be provided. Follow up sessions are available as needed. Current students of Satpal's will usually need one session.
Kundalini Yoga is an ancient technology with over 5000 different meditations and physical practices. Many of these have been scientifically studied and found to have therapeutic benefits for mental health disorders. It also develops flexibility, tones muscles, and strengthens the nervous, glandular, and immune systems. It increases mental energy and cultivates a deep inner calm. This body of teachings was brought to the west by Yogi Bhajan in the late 1960’s and incorporates all elements of the ancient teachings of yoga: Asana (physical practice), Pranayama (breathing techniques), Mantra (sound), Mudra (hand positions), and Meditation. These aspects are combined into series of actions called Kriyas. Some Kriyas are dynamic and energetic, while others are slow and meditative.
