Now offering EMDR Intensive Therapy
Intensives are longer than the standard weekly, 50-minute session...typically 3 to 6 hours at a time...and are a great way to find relief from symptoms more quickly. Intensive EMDR therapy may only be needed once or twice for people who have experienced a single traumatic event, or it may be needed more regularly for those who have experienced multiple adverse experiences.
This kind of treatment will:
- Help you move on from a difficult experience in the past.
-Unravel negative beliefs and transition to more adaptive, helpful ways of thinking about yourself and your environment.
-Resolve or reduce symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, depression, shame, and other painful emotions.
-Resolve or reduce intrusive thoughts, images, nightmares, and negative sensory experiences.
-Improve your daily experiences and increase feelings of self worth and self compassion.
If you are a new client seeking an EMDR Intensive you can expect to begin with a phone consultation to make sure it will be a good fit for you, followed by a 90-minute assessment, which will be covered by any in-network insurance companies. Once these steps are completed, we can schedule your first intensive. Please reach out to Sonya via phone or email: (207) 831-4203 or sonya.l.theriault@gmail.com
